SmoothTrack utilizes the augmented reality capabilities of your iOS 13 device to offer a seamless and efficient head tracking experience for 6 degrees-of-freedom movements in your simulation games.

Supported by any iOS 13 device, SmoothTrack has gained recognition as the best new controller in the market. In fact, Polygon describes it as a remarkable smartphone app priced at just $9.99.

Customers have praised SmoothTrack for its simplicity and effectiveness. Setting up the app takes less than 5 minutes, allowing you to install, configure, and start enjoying your gaming experience without being confined to your desk. The app has received rave reviews, with one user exclaiming their satisfaction with a perfect 5-star rating.

Experience the almost magical sensation of effortlessly moving your head and witnessing your in-game perspective instantaneously correspond to your movements. The game's camera reacts to even the slightest of head movements, making navigation a breeze.

Some examples of what you can do with SmoothTrack:

  • Lean forward for a closer examination of the cockpit in your Flight Simulator.
  • Look upwards to observe the overhead panel of your A320.
  • Shift your head slightly to the right to identify the direction of the space station you are approaching in Elite: Dangerous.
  • Glance left before making a sharp turn in Euro Truck Simulator 2.

No additional equipment or headsets are required to utilize SmoothTrack. Simply position your device so it can capture your face, and using the intuitive on-screen controls, you can manipulate your in-game perspective effortlessly.

SmoothTrack's implementation slightly exaggerates head movements to ensure maximum freedom. For instance, you can easily look out of the side window of a cockpit with just a subtle tilt of your head.

SmoothTrack can be seamlessly integrated with any game that supports the FreeTrack or TrackIR protocol. Notable examples include Microsoft Flight Simulator, Microsoft FSX, DCS World, Elite: Dangerous, IL2: Sturmovik, Euro Truck Simulator 2, Kerbal Space Program, and various others.

Setting up SmoothTrack is straightforward with the following instructions included in the app:

  1. Install and launch the latest version of the free program "OpenTrack" on your computer, available for download on GitHub at http://github.com/opentrack/opentrack/releases.
  2. In OpenTrack, select "UDP over network" as the input source, and "Freetrack 2.0 Enhanced" as the output with sub-type "Both".
  3. Ensure that the UDP port being used by OpenTrack is open on both your firewall and router.
  4. Find your PC's IP address by running 'ipconfig' in Command Prompt and locating the "IPv4 Address".
  5. In SmoothTrack settings, enter your PC's IP address and port.
  6. Click "Start" in OpenTrack.
  7. Tap "Play" in SmoothTrack, and you should witness the movement of the OpenTrack octopus, indicating that any game supporting TrackIR will now be compatible with your head tracking. For further assistance, refer to the Troubleshooting section.
